Frustration. Sometimes is hard even to find the starting point to explain the evilness of Israeli society. I touch the religious point and then we all witness the atrocities in Gaza. I talk about Gaza and then I get strange emails linking between Israel and Haiti. A friend forwarded me an email mentioning the Israeli help to Haiti. The phrasing of the email used some of Justice Goldstone words against Israel in order to praise that state. It mentioned the Israeli population size, saying no country of that size contributed so much help to the Haitians victims. It avoided mentioning the help was through a military unit (belonging to "Pikud Haoref" - the Home Front Command) that is gets substantial economic help from the US. It forgot to mention the unit is always desperate to find practicing grounds and it pushes itself everywhere it is accepted. Costs do not matter. Uncle Obama pays. Distressed. I was so distressed about the email they I did open the online Hebrew version of Yedihot Aharonot - the largest Hebrew newspaper. The second item on the news page got my attention immediately. It shouted for being brought to my readers' attention, though explaining it would be a headache. Why does everything related with Israel go awry? Is the inversion of terms inherent to the Hebrew language (Like in Job 2:9) that causes the Israeli Administration to behave like a drunken devil? I'll try to explain the issue to my much appreciated non-Israeli readers. Since the state’s early days, Israeli Arabs (Palestinians with Israeli citizenship) were pushed into the building industry, whereas other industries and occupations were denied to them. After 1967, Palestinians from the occupied territories began building Israel as well. Most of modern Israel was constructed by Palestinians. At certain stage, foreign workers were allowed in to replace the Palestinian work. Most of them come from Turkey, Rumania, Nigeria, Colombia, Thailand and the Philippines. They come with short term contracts through special agencies and are treated almost as slaves. Even the right to worship is denied to them; as a consequence, Tel Aviv features a large number of underground churches. Follow the workers on Sunday mornings and you'll find them. Many of these workers have families; some got married in Israel and had children. The children are not recognized by the state of Israel, meaning they do have neither citizenship - despite having been born in Israel - nor basic social rights. 1200 such children live in harsh conditions regularly denounced by organizations like "Israeli Children." The state doesn't care if they are hungry or if they attend school; to put that in simple terms, they are not Jews. What's going on here? I began mentioning Haiti and then moved to explain about foreign workers in Israel... Simply, on January 24, Yedihot Aharonot published an article claiming human rights organizations in Israel oppose to the Welfare Minister decision to adopt Haitian children for as long as the foreign workers children problem is not solved. "But also the Haitians children are not Jews," are some of zio-pharisaic readers countering. That's true. But, 1200 foreign children are ignored since they have no effect on the international media. Ten or twenty Haitian children would be adopted and produce a positive impact on the international perception of the State of Israel. This is another brilliant Public Relations exercise of the State of Israel. Don't worry, Uncle Obama pays. + +
