Open Letter to Justice Goldstone

Back in 2009, I couldn’t believe it: a self-defined Zionist Jew acting on behalf of the UN had convicted Israel as “terror inflicting” (a nice way of saying “terrorist”). On October 16 of the same year, the report was approved by the UN Human Rights Council. In an article called Justice from the Hip: On Goldstone and Terrorism I analyzed in detail the lengthy report approved by the UN. The Report of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict appears in the Downloads section this website; it is well worth a detailed reading, there is no better modern testimony on the soul of Israel. I won’t summarize my summary here; the point to keep in mind is that the report found time and again that Israel intentionally targeted civilians in order to create fear (terror). I’ll return to this later. Coming from an un-repentant, un-converted Jew, this was remarkable. I read the report in detail and in one place I found Justice Goldstone paraphrasing Ephesians 5:11 (And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them). Was he an underground Christian? Could I call him a peer? The Hebrew media went wild on him. No open threats were published but to anyone following the Zionist-Israeli trail of violence along time, it was clear a direct attack was only a question of time. Let me remind to the Zionists reading this article that the worst act of terror ever in the Palestinian-Zionist conflict was perpetrated by a Jonathan Silverman (Caspi), in 1946, when this ardent Jewish terrorist blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. Consequently, in 2010, there was an attempt to bar Justice Goldstone from his grandson’s bar mitzvah in Johannesburg, though eventually he assisted. We can only imagine what type of messages he was getting privately. However, the Goldstone Report is not the only testimony on the Israeli crimes in Gaza during the 2008-2009 brutal attack. Even before the report was published, I brought to my readers an extraordinary document, called the Beit Oranim Transcript - Hebrew (here is a partial transcription Beit Oranim Transcript - English). It is an internal transcription of an IDF soldiers and officers meeting at the Beit Oranim Seminary; the document has been validated and published by the Hebrew media. It is clearly stated in it – with orders coming directly from lieutenant general – that Israel wanted to cause fear to the Gazan civilians through direct brutal attacks ion them. “This time everything is allowed,” an officer is cited in the transcript. This is the same conclusion reached by the UN committee. Time went by, and on the beginning of April 2011, Justice Goldstone published an article on the Washington Post called Reconsidering the Goldstone Report. In it he said “that civilians were not intentionally targeted as a matter of policy.” This contradicts all evidences, even those cited by Israeli media and the IDF in internal forums as disclosed in the Beit Oranim document mentioned above. As a matter of fact the UN approval is still valid, thus Goldstone retraction means nothing on formal terms. What did change, Justice Goldstone? How come all of the sudden it is OK to drop white phosphorous artillery shell on a civilian hospital treating women and children? Justice Goldstone, if any of the kids in the pictures above was your child – or a Jewish child – would you still have changed your mind? Justice Goldstone, by retracting, you failed the test. A man of God and honor would have behaved differently. In Matthew 10, we find Jesus addressing the Apostles. Among other worthy things he said (Matthew 10:17,27-28) “But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; … What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Let me disclose you a secret about your new friends, Justice Goldstone. You see, you are a Jew and a Zionist, but you are not Israeli. Let me inform you that Israelis like meeting on Friday nights and talk with their friends about what is referred to as “the situation.” Since your recent display of major intellectual cowardice, you became the main topic of many of these encounters. Invariably, you were a reason for open and loud laughter. Invariably, a shy comment “Yehudon!” (“little Jew” in Hebrew) could be heard. Don’t you ever forget this. + +
