September 2011 is reaching us; all signs show it would bring winds of change, its wafts warming up people’s hearts before what would probably be a long and violent winter. In that month, Palestine would probably declare independence at the United Nations General Assembly with the support of the Middle East Quartet – the UN, the EU, the USA and Russia. Israel knows it has lost this battle. Nowadays the talk in Jerusalem is which terms the American President would pose for an American vote in favor of Palestinian independence; the bets are on 1967 borders, renounce to return rights and recognition of Israel. The chances the USA would use its veto force in the Security Council – the formal step before the decision is brought to the General Assembly – against a massive support of the decision by the overwhelming majority of the world are slim; America’s karma is already bad enough. Post-Mubarak Egypt already recognized de facto the independence of Gaza strip. The IMF already recognized the capability of the Palestinian Authority to function as a state. Thus the event at the General Assembly would be mainly festive, Palestine is already a reality. Moreover, there are changes also within the American society its president cannot ignore while deciding on the American vote. Yesterday, June 3, 2011, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) strongly condemned Monster Mohel, a comic book created by supporters of an anti-circumcision movement in San Francisco, saying it contained "grotesque anti-Semitic imagery and themes;" unluckily, the ADL don’t show similar contempt for the non-consenting victims of the Jewish mutilation practices. Somehow, the true face of Zionism and Judaism are emerging, despite the ADL, (ADL), Hollywood and other powerful fans. The Male Genital Mutilation Bill group is pushing to make male circumcision illegal in San Francisco and has succeeded in getting their controversial measure on the November ballot.
Jerusalem is bracing up for the imminent Palestinian independence declaration. Netanyahu’s recent declarations during the Jerusalem Day events leave no doubt Israel is preparing for war. “While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said…” is one of the most famous citations from the Book of Job, appearing three times in its first chapter (verses 16 to 18) when disasters keep hitting Job. Netanyahu is for sure not Job – the last was righteous – but he must feel like Job these days. On the same month, the United Nations’ Commemoration of the Durban World Conference Against Racism would take place in New York. The 2001 World Conference against Racism (WCAR), also known as Durban I, dealt with several controversial issues, including compensation for slavery and the actions of Israel. The United States and Israel, withdrew from the conference over objections to a draft document equating Zionism with racism, because they couldn’t defend their position. The same had happened before. On November 10, 1975, the United nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 3379, which ends with an undying truth: “…which most severely condemned zionism as a threat to world peace and security and called upon all countries to oppose this racist and imperialist ideology, Determines that Zionism is a form of racism and racial discrimination.” Another important text appearing in this resolution is: “international co-operation and peace require the achievement of national liberation and independence, the elimination of colonialism and neo-colonialism, foreign occupation, zionism, apartheid and racial discrimination in all its forms,…” Almost 35 years later – on October 16, 2009 – the same United Nations adopted the The Goldstone Report - which condemned Israel on its brutal attack on Gaza. The report defines Israel as a terror inflicting organization (Article 1690 and others, download here full text). The brutality of the events described there – include the bombing of civilians within a hospital with white phosphorous – leaves no place for doubt: despite the trickery cancelation of Resolution 3379 (a blackmailing precondition for the Madrid Conference, see Zion, Sex and Resolution 3379) Israel didn’t change attitude. The Second Durban Conference took place in 2009, and condemned Israel it for human rights violations and racist policies. The United States did not take part in the conference. The actual conference promises to achieve similar decisions: the USA, Canada and Israel had already announced they won’t participate. Again Zionist positions cannot be defended: no one can justify discrimination, racism, and violence in the name of a democracy for the few, mohel-circumcised, and rich.
