The Da Vinci Code | The Israeli Link

On March 25, 2010, Irit Aharonson made news. The principal of Kiryat Sharet High School, a large institution in Holon, a city on the southern side of Gush Dan – Tel Aviv’s Metropolitan Area – did send an email to the parents. The document included a video clip with racist insinuations; it showed an Arab toddler being thrown into a swimming pool and nearly drowning. Teachers said Aharonson had previously sent similar video clips.

In the past I reported on another article in the Hebrew media. It was published by Haaretz by Ofri Ilani on July 19, 2009. It was titled: "Vatican teaching Hezbollah how to kill Jews, says pamphlet for IDF troops." Among other nonsense, it claimed "The Pope and the cardinals of the Vatican help organize tours of Auschwitz for Hezbollah members to teach them how to wipe out Jews, according to a booklet being distributed to Israel Defense Forces soldiers."

In the October 25, 2009, episode of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" titled "The Bare Midriff," Larry David's urinated on an image of Jesus the Christ. It couldn’t have been broadcast without the previous approval of HBO.

The list of disturbing attitudes shown by Israelis – and Jews in general – could be expanded significantly without any effort. Several other articles in this website show other examples of Jewish racist attitude and of the indefatigable conspirators’ subsequent actions.

Under these circumstances, there is a recent document that shines in the dark skies of these times with several peculiarities. The Da Vinci Code is the name of a book published by Dan Brown in 2003, with the kind help of Bantam Dell Pub Group, a subsidiary of Random House. The book contains an ongoing tirade against the Church, especially the Roman Catholic one. Considering issues like Hate Laws and others, its publication is strange. Why wasn’t the author prosecuted in court?

I won’t make an analysis of the book here. An excellent one was published by the Catholic Church in an article called "Cracking The Da Vinci Code.” It shows how the author manipulates historical facts in favor of a conspiracy theory apparently backed by “old age” people. Those propose returning to the days of horoscopes, numerology and Talmudism.

So we have a little book unsuccessfully attempting to throw mud on the Church. How come it got published by a major publisher and got filmed by Hollywood? Who backs the book? Why it looks in line with the ongoing Jewish attacks and mockery against Christianity? Why can’t we see any apparent Jewish influence in this case? I contacted Random House in the past and they refused publishing The Cross of Bethlehem despite my book being at the very center of the political map; however, it criticizes Israel and Judaism.

This is strange. Random House is the world's largest trade book publisher. Based in the US, it was acquired in 1998 by Bertelsmann AG, a German media corporation founded in 1835. During World War II, Bertelsmann was the biggest single publisher of Nazi propaganda. This is getting even stranger. The Owner Heinrich Mohn and his son Reinhard Mohn were members of the SS. At the end of the war, the publishing house was closed for some time, but in 1947, it re-founded by Reinhard Mohn. The quest is getting tougher. How come a corporation with such credentials is – apparently – making the dirty work for Israel?

Reinhard Mohn wasn’t only an SS member. After his education he entered military service for the Third Reich with the Luftwaffe, was captured by US forces in Tunisia in 1943 and was sent to a PoW camp in Kansas. Yet, he was politically cleansed and allowed to re-open the biggest single publisher of Nazi propaganda soon after the war, with a new line of books fitting the political views of the new masters. Something is really bizarre here.

I did a quick search in the Hebrew media. Reinhard Mohn doesn’t exist there, except for an obituary that appeared in Haaretz on October 5, 2009. The newspaper wanted from me roughly $3 for getting a copy of it. However, the article’s sales page included most of its 137 words. This was enough to see the tone was completely neutral. Wow! The Israeli conspirators didn’t size the opportunity to throw mud on a former member of the SS turned into the world’s largest publisher. What’s going on here?

Soon, a different picture emerged. Recently, I published (Back in Bethlehem) about an attempt to entrap me by an American politician. I didn’t add any identifying details, but he is closely related to The Times. The online version of the latter published on October 9, 2009 an article called: “Reinhard Mohn: businessman who revived Bertelsmann,” basing it on the printed version. For most of it, the article read as much of the other material I found about the corporation and the man. Yet, towards its bottom there was a very significant text:

"The revelations did Mohn and the company less damage than they might have done, partly because of his links with Israel and funding of German-Jewish dialogue through a charitable foundation, the Bertelsmann Stiftung, which he founded in the 1970s and endowed with majority ownership of the company in the 1990s."

Was a reputation cleaned by cooperation with Israel?
